Thursday, April 13, 2006 (PST) - Golden Spike Rock Club April Trip

The Golden Spike Club in Ogden is having a collecting trip to the Thomas Range Easter Weekend (April 13-16). This trip is open to members of all local clubs.

The Golden Spike Club will be collecting at the Thomas Range over Easter Weekend (April 13-16).  They will be going to several different sites, and collecting Topaz, Bixbyite, Dugway Geodes, Obsidian, and possibly other minerals and lapidary materials.  There will be a mix of surface collecting and hard rock collecting.

They will be camped out for the weekend, one mile south of the main paved road going out to Topaz Mountain.  The turn-off is about four miles before the turn for Topaz Mtn., and will be marked.  You can camp out for the weekend, or just come out for a day trip.  If you come out for the day, get to the camp no later than 9:00 AM, as that is usually when everybody heads out to the collecting sites.

Please contact Jason Glenn (532-4556) for more information.
