Welcome to Mineral Collectors of Utah!

Monthly MCU Meeting

Wednesday, June 25th

6:30 PM, Sprague Library in Sugarhouse.

This month’s program will feature a talk by:

"Dave Richerson will provide an update on our education event planned for the afternoon of September 27. The SL Public Library has agreed to be a co-sponsor, as have the Utah Museum of Natural History and the Geology and Geophysics Department.

In addition, Dave will bring a variety of education outreach modules and materials that he takes to classes so that we can have an active discussion of ideas for September 27. The tentative title for the event is Treasues of Planet Earth: Minerals and Fossils of the World. Also, if anyone has any new samples they have collected or other new acquisitions, please bring them for show-and-tell". :

•If time permits, we will view an installment from The Teaching Company series, "How the Earth Works". •

GPS EXERCISE AND MINERAL HUNT

Get out your new GPS and figure out how to use it. There are still 3 Tupperware boxes containing minerals hidden around the valley! These are easy "field trips" that will let you hone your GPS skills. To get the coordinates for the Virtual Field Trip caches go to:
